Waste Management
Expertise in Michigan

MCF Environmental Services have been serving medical clinics, laboratories, education institutions and local businesses for more than 30 years, offering specialist waste collection and disposal services for hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams.

Michigan follows the ‘cradle-to-grave’ approach to hazardous healthcare and business/industrial waste management. What does that mean for you? It means that any waste generator of medical, hazardous, infectious, or other potentially hazardous waste in the state (you) is responsible for the proper segregation, packaging, transportation, and disposal of that waste.

Your responsibility doesn’t end when the waste is transported off-site. That’s why it’s so important to partner with a reputable and experienced hazardous medical and industrial waste management company – compliance is key.

Did you know…?

Michigan requires generators of medical waste to register with the state department and submit a waste management plan within 90 days following registration.

The state also follows the regulations of Michigan’s Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE). Stay up-to-date with revisions and amendments of the state such as those found here. There is no such thing as ‘I didn’t know’ when it comes to waste management compliance.

Michigan follows and applies the rules (and penalties) of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) of the Environmental Protection Agency. It is also the responsibility of the waste generator to know and understand the rules and regulations applicable to transportation companies that pick up waste to transfer it off-site to a waste management facility.

Michigan’ Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) requires a Hazardous Waste Transporter Inspection Form and ID number for compliance. Manifest information and instructions can be found on the EGLE website under Uniform Manifest Information. So too can EPA compliance assistance and tools.

Hazardous waste program forms and license applications are essential for any facility regulated under the state’s Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act and the RCRA.

Yes, it’s a lot of searching, details, and reading, but following all of it is vital for compliance. So is accuracy when filling out documentation.

MCF Environmental Services is familiar with state and federal regulations for hazardous medical and industrial waste management and disposal processes. We provide guidance on reports, manifests, documents, and filing for license or registering with EGLE, and customizable services that meet your waste management processes and disposal needs.
