In 2016 the world’s population discarded 49 million tons of e-waste (equivalent to about 4,500 Eiffel Towers) and the lifecycle of devices is shortening every year. At MCF we are passionate about sustainable decision making in waste management and as a certified and trusted company, we are committed to making it easy for businesses to recycle and dispose of electronics.
We ensure your risk is protected and fines are averted by managing every interaction of e-waste recycling from collection to disposal. Don’t know where to start? Talk to one of our experts today for guidance on your e-waste.

Environmentally Responsible Waste Disposal
Many states are passing laws which prevent e-waste from being discarded in landfills or incinerators due to the pollution risk they pose to the environment. Nearly all electronics contain hazardous chemicals that could leach from landfills into groundwater or from burning emit dioxin into the atmosphere. Our eco-system is fragile, and the impact of our replace vs re-use lifestyle poses a risk to habitats, food and water sources if not managed responsibly. By choosing the correct disposal pathway, we ensure that e-waste and hazardous contaminants are prevented from harming our environment.
Cradle to Grave Waste Responsibility
Guidelines of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act
Every waste generator is deemed by the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) to have a “cradle to grave” hazardous waste responsibility for any waste generated. What does this mean? Quite simply that an individual or a business is legally responsible for any hazardous waste they generate across its full lifecycle, from generation through to transportation, treatment, storage and disposal. For this reason, it’s essential that you partner with a transporter who is DOT certified to transport hazardous waste off site, and has adequate insurances and treatment capability to minimize your risk exposure.
The Importance of Turnkey Lab Pack Service
Eliminating risk in the categorization and packing of chemicals
For lab decommissioning, it’s essential to choose a waste partner that not only has licensing and permitting for transport and disposal, but also the expertise in compliance training, chemistry and hazardous substance categorization. Before any chemical substances can be packaged and containerized, a full inventory of chemicals must be compiled and expert guidance provided to correctly package the lab pack according to the type of waste. Correct packing and segregation of innocuous waste is critical to eliminating risk of chemical reactiveness, and when you partner with MCF, we provide this service (categorization, packing and handling) for you.
